AWS suffered a major outage on Monday, disrupting services for over 2,000 companies and generating 8.1 million user reports globally. Affected platforms included Disney+, McDonald's app, Snapchat, and United Airlines. Amazon confirmed full service restoration by evening.

Bernstein analyst Mark Shmulik raised concerns about AWS's AI competitiveness, citing slower cloud growth rates and GPU allocation trends. "It's hard to argue otherwise," stated the top-ranked analyst, though he acknowledged AWS's strong Q2 performance in net new dollar growth.
